How long have you been practicing?

Before choosing an attorney be sure to find out how long they've been practicing. Complicated matters may call for a more experienced attorney where as a less complicated issue could be handled by a lawyer with less experience.

How many cases like mine have you handled?

Determining if an attorney has handled a similar case to yours is crucial to finding out if they have the expertise to handle your situation.

How would you handle my case?

Question the attorney to discover how he's going to handle your case. This will help you determine if the lawyer is a good fit for you.

How will you bill me?

Always find out how much they will bill you and if it's an hourly or a flat rate.

Who else will be working on my case?

Sometimes lawyers pass work off to junior associates or paralegals, ask if that will be the case for your issue.
